Long text entries in forms can be hard to review. Pie Forms allows you to limit the number of characters and words that a user can enter in a form field.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to restrict the content’s length with the Text Area field.
Before we get started, you will need to create a new form or edit an existing one.
- Go to the form editor of Pie Forms.
- Drag and drop the Text Area field in your form. Click the edit tab.
- The basic and advanced options will open up on the right side of the form editor.
- In the advanced options, you will see a checkbox of Limit Length.
- Once you will enable the checkbox, it will display two additional fields.
- Number field:To enter numbers to set the limit.
- Dropdown: To select the category, you want to limit the length for, Characters, or Word Count.
- Save the settings and previewthe form for testing.
Testing You Forms:
We recommend testing your forms before adding them to your website.
The below Text area is displayed on the form, and the user will not be able to enter any additional value in the field once the limit is over. It also lets the user know how many word or character limit is left.
